At USWR Press, reviewers and editors play a central role in safeguarding the scientific, ethical, and societal value of every published book. Their expertise ensures that each manuscript reflects the University’s commitment to rigor, transparency, cultural relevance, and responsible knowledge dissemination.

Role of Reviewers

Reviewers are invited to evaluate manuscripts based on the criteria defined in the University’s official policies, including the:

• Publication Council Bylaws
• Book Preparation Guidelines
• AI Regulation for Scientific Publishing

Reviewers assess:

• Originality and scientific contribution
• Relevance to rehabilitation, social health, and inclusive education
• Narrative clarity and accessibility for families, caregivers, and professionals
• Ethical compliance, citation accuracy, and proper use of sources
• Cultural and linguistic appropriateness, especially in translated works

Reviewers are expected to:

• Provide constructive, unbiased, and evidence‑based feedback
• Respect confidentiality and intellectual property
• Declare any conflicts of interest
• Complete reviews within the agreed timeframe
• Avoid uploading manuscripts into AI tools (as required by the AI Regulation)

Role of Editors

Editors oversee the full evaluation process and ensure that each manuscript progresses through a fair, transparent, and ethical review pathway.

Their responsibilities include:

• Ensuring balanced and independent peer review
• Communicating with authors clearly, respectfully, and professionally
• Upholding editorial independence and preventing bias
• Supporting reviewers and resolving methodological or ethical concerns
• Ensuring compliance with the AI Regulation, including disclosure requirements
• Making final recommendations to the Publication Council

All reviewers and editors must:

• Avoid plagiarism, coercive citation, or biased evaluation
• Maintain strict confidentiality throughout the review process
• Refrain from reviewing manuscripts with personal or professional conflicts
• Avoid using AI tools for scientific judgment, novelty assessment, or decision‑making
• Disclose any permitted use of AI (e.g., grammar checking) as required by policy

Authored Book Evaluation Form

This form guides reviewers in assessing:

Reviewers are encouraged to provide page‑specific comments and clear recommendations.

Translated Book Evaluation Form

This form supports evaluation of:

• Consistency with the Book Preparation Guidelines

Confidentiality and Data Protection

Reviewers and editors must:

• Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents
• Avoid sharing or storing manuscripts on external platforms
• Avoid uploading full texts into AI systems (strictly prohibited)
• Report any ethical concerns to the Publications Office
