According to current statistics, about 7.5% of Iran’s population is now elderly, and it is projected that by 2021 the number of older adults will reach ten million. At the same time, research shows that diseases for which increasing age is a major risk factor—such as neurodegenerative disorders, various cancers, hypertension, and arthritis—have the highest prevalence in this group, imposing a substantial financial burden on the national health-care system and underscoring the importance of studying ageing and investing in prevention. This book focuses on the molecular and genetic aspects of ageing, emphasizing that effective preventive genetic interventions are only possible through a deeper understanding of the genetic basis of senescence. It is the first book in Iran to systematically present the diverse genetic dimensions of ageing and to describe the molecular mechanisms underlying this phenomenon.

However, if parents have not received the necessary and essential training and information about these skills, how can they fulfill this important responsibility? The instructional approach in this book is designed to effectively introduce parents and educators of blind and low vision children to the principles of teaching these skills, so that by transferring these methods to children and students, they can help them achieve greater independence and self sufficiency. To this end, the authors have intentionally used simple language and clear explanations to create a closer connection with readers.
