summary
Since our country has always been affected by natural and human‑made hazards and their health and economic consequences, effective risk management in disasters and emergencies is essential for achieving sustainable development. Therefore, the development of a national tool for disaster risk assessment and the creation of a common language is both necessary and significant. Recognizing this need, experts in health in emergencies and disasters at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences designed the National Risk Assessment Tool. This tool, based on international and national studies and numerous expert consultations, has been approved by the National Disaster Management Organization and introduced as the official national framework for risk assessment. The publication and distribution of this tool aim to establish shared terminology among all agencies covered by Article 2 of the Disaster Management Law, as well as scholars and professionals in the field. Ultimately, it seeks to enable scientific evaluation and analysis of disaster risks and contribute to reducing the impacts of hazards in our country.
