- Childhood is the period in which children acquire essential motor and social skills, and for children with visual impairments, parents are their best teachers. However, if parents have not received the necessary and essential training and information about these skills, how can they fulfill this important responsibility? The instructional approach in this book is designed to effectively introduce parents and educators of blind and low vision children to the principles of teaching these skills, so that by transferring these methods to children and students, they can help them achieve greater independence and self sufficiency. To this end, the authors have intentionally used simple language and clear explanations to create a closer connection with readers.
