summary
Orientation and mobility skills are among the most essential trainings for individuals with visual impairment. Blind and low-vision students, by learning these skills, can move independently, safely, and effectively in various environments. In Iran, orientation and mobility education was added to the curriculum of blind students in 1997, but no formal curriculum had been developed until now. Drawing on her professional expertise in teaching visually impaired students in Iran, her theoretical studies, and observations at Perkins School for the Blind in the United States, Dr. Ashraf Karimi has prepared this curriculum. Based on the latest global approaches, the book offers both theoretical foundations and a practical curriculum, including teaching methods and evaluation strategies, designed for elementary school students with visual impairment.
