- Arthritis or inflammatory joint disease is a term generally used to describe many types of joint damage, with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis being the most common. The progressive and destructive nature of the disease leads to deformities and malalignments in the joints of the patients’ hands, which can result in functional limitations in their daily activities. Proper diagnosis and management of this condition significantly reduces the functional limitations and common deformities associated with the injury.
