summary
Learning disorders have a neurobiological basis and constitute the most common educational challenges among students with special needs. These disorders require interdisciplinary intervention, and early identification and treatment can significantly influence a child’s social adjustment and academic progress. In a 2014 classification, learning disorders were grouped into nine categories, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, aphasia, dysphasia, auditory processing disorder, visual processing disorder, and nonverbal learning disorder. This book consists of seven chapters: the first three address common learning disorders, and the remaining four focus on comorbid conditions. The content supports the needs of students in psychology, medicine, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and professionals working with children who experience learning difficulties.
