This book, prepared with the aim of providing guidelines (or protocols) for interventions during the onset of developmental movement disorders in children with lower motor neuron dysfunction, includes the following sections: After defining and introducing the target group for these interventions and a brief review of etiology, differential diagnoses, general symptoms, and laboratory, paraclinical, and functional assessment methods, therapeutic interventions are presented. Therapeutic interventions for each of the most important accompanying symptoms of lower motor neuron injuries (hypotonia, muscle weakness, reduced range of motion, respiratory distress, postural control disorders, motor disorders, and balance disorders) are provided, including the treatment target group, symptom definition, assessment methods, techniques used for intervention, required tools and conditions for intervention, and a step-by-step explanation of implementing the mentioned techniques for the treatment of the desired symptom, along with practical examples. At the end, a flowchart or algorithm is presented to illustrate the step-by-step actions for a child who has been diagnosed with a lower motor neuron injury and has referred to a therapist. The appendix of this book also includes a more comprehensive explanation of some important and common diseases that cause this disorder, a detailed description of necessary tests, and explanations regarding the prostheses used in this category of disorders.

The vestibular system of the ear is 500 million years old and has therefore been associated with the evolution of brain development and has many functions in the brain, especially in humans. In addition to maintaining balance, position, and stabilizing images of objects on the retina of the eye, it contributes to clear vision of the surrounding world in multiple cognitive processes, such as spatial vision, spatial memory, learning, and the proper functioning of the autonomic nervous system, as well as the secretion of various body hormones. Therefore, in vestibular disorders, after the acute symptoms of the disease improve, the individual should undergo vestibular rehabilitation to compensate for the damage caused, minimizing the resulting harm as much as possible.
